The PVOIL Vietnam Off-Road Racing Tournament 2024 will find out the athletes participating in the national championship.

Vietnam Gymkhana Championship PVOIL Cup 2024 officially opened at Dai Nam Racing Circuit

This morning (14/9), Vietnam Gymkhana Championship PVOIL Cup 2024 officially kicking off at the Dai Nam Racing Circuit with the participation of 25 racers (including 3 women) competing in two categories: Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and Rear/All-Wheel Drive (RWD/AWD)

In the series of National Gymkhana Championship PVOIL Cup 2024, The PVOIL Vietnam Off-Road Racing Tournament 2024 will find out the athletes participating in the national championship which will be held in 1-2/11 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi.

Gymkhana is a motorsport where drivers navigate short, narrow, and winding tracks filled with obstacles like cones and poles. The goal is to complete the course as quickly and accurately as possible. The most important factors are accuracy, vehicle control ability, and quick response.

Unlike traditional car races, gymkhana examines the driver's ability to handle difficult turns, sharp corners, and sudden slowdowns. Like a test track, the mistakes like crashing into a hat or going off deviation will be time penalties. The racers compete one by one and the one with the fastest time will be the winner.

Joining the competition, apart from the practice, in the elimination and the final round, each athlete will be allowed to race 2 times, and the best performance will be recorded. To increase the challenge, the racetrack may have increasing difficulty and time penalties

The total prize pool for this event is 58 million VND, as follows:

Front-Wheel Drive (FWD):

Champion: 15 million VND in cash, PVOIL oil-voucher worth 3 million VND, trophy, golden medal and certificate

2nd prize: 5 million VND in cash, PVOIL oil-voucher worth 2 million VND, silver medal and certificate.

3rd prize: 3 million VND in cash, PVOIL oil-voucher worth 1 million VND, bronze medal and certificate

Rear/All-Wheel Drive (RWD/AWD)

Champion: 15 million VND in cash, PVOIL oil-voucher worth 3 million VND, trophy, golden medal and certificate

2nd prize: 5 million VND in cash, PVOIL oil-voucher worth 2 million VND, silver medal and certificate.

3rd prize: 3 million VND in cash, PVOIL oil-voucher worth 1 million VND, bronze medal and certificate

5 years ago, at Dai Nam Racing Circuit, the first Vietnam Gymkhana Championship (12/2019) was organized by Vietnamese Motorsports Association (VMA), OTV Media and Otofun forum, setting the first step for on-road sports racing activities in Vietnam
