Announcement of the Appointment of the Deputy Party Secretary and President & CEO of PVOIL

On December 1, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City, PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) held a ceremony to announce and present personnel appointment decisions for the positions of Deputy Party Secretary and President & CEO of PVOIL.

Representing Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) at the ceremony were Mr. Le Manh Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Members; Mr. Le Ngoc Son, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President & CEO; and Mr. Tran Quang Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee. Joining them were Members of the Board of Members, including Mr. Bui Minh Tien, Mr. Tran Binh Minh, and Mr. Tran Hong Nam; Vice President Mr. Duong Manh Son; along with members of the Party Standing Committee and leaders of specialized divisions within Petrovietnam.

PVOIL's leadership was represented by Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Doan Van Nhuom, former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and former President & CEO; as well as members of the Party Standing Committee, the Board of Directors, the Executive Board, and key management personnel of PVOIL.

At the ceremony, Mr. Phan Anh Minh, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Organization Committee of the Party Committee, and Head of the Human Resources Management Division of the Group, announced the decision of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee to approve Mr. Nguyen Dang Trinh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, and Vice President of PVOIL, as Deputy Secretary of PVOIL's Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. Following this, Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Organization Committee of the Party Committee, and Head of the Human Resources and Organization Division of PVOIL, announced the decision of PVOIL's Board of Directors to appoint Mr. Nguyen Dang Trinh as President & CEO and the legal representative of PVOIL. The decisions take effect from December 1, 2024.

Mr. Le Manh Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Members of Petrovietnam, emphasized PVOIL's remarkable achievements since 2020, marked by comprehensive growth in revenue, profit, and total assets, making significant contributions to the overall performance of the Group. These achievements were the result of the collective efforts of PVOIL's leadership and employees, with notable contributions from Mr. Doan Van Nhuom. Along with a letter of appreciation from Petrovietnam's leadership addressed to Mr. Doan Van Nhuom, Mr. Le Manh Hung, on behalf of the Group’s leadership, expressed gratitude for Mr. Doan Van Nhuom's contributions to the oil and gas industry, particularly his outstanding accomplishments as part of PVOIL’s collective success over the years.

Mr. Le Manh Hung extended his congratulations to Mr. Nguyen Dang Trinh on his new appointment and commended PVOIL for excelling in business operations, maintaining a strong organizational culture and internal solidarity, and successfully building a team of successor leaders while quickly consolidating personnel to align with PVOIL’s development goals. He expressed his hope that the newly appointed Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President & CEO of PVOIL would continue to build upon the achievements of their predecessors and their own, fostering unity and collaboration among PVOIL’s leadership and workforce. Together, they are expected to strengthen and advance the corporation, contributing to the overall growth of Petrovietnam.

In his speech at the ceremony, Mr. Doan Van Nhuom, former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and former President & CEO of PVOIL, expressed his deep emotions, gratitude, and joy upon receiving congratulations and appreciation from the leadership of Petrovietnam, as well as from PVOIL's management and employees. He affirmed that such recognition is a great honor for an individual after many years of service and upon retirement. Mr. Nhuom expressed his heartfelt thanks for the support, encouragement, and assistance from the leadership of Petrovietnam and PVOIL during his tenure, which enabled him to successfully fulfill his responsibilities. He extended his best wishes for good health to the leadership and expressed hope for PVOIL’s continued strength and development in the future.

As he takes on his new responsibilities, Mr. Nguyen Dang Trinh expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Party Committee and the leadership of Petrovietnam; the Party Committee, Board of Directors, and Executive Board of PVOIL; as well as the leaders, employees, and Party members from the divisions, offices, subsidiaries, and affiliated units of PVOIL for their trust and confidence in him. Taking on this new role is both an honor and a great responsibility. Mr. Trinh committed to building upon the achievements and experience of previous generations, upholding a strong sense of responsibility, fostering unity, self-improvement, and learning from experience. Together with the Party Committee, leadership team, and employees of PVOIL, he pledged to effectively implement and succeed with strategies to "revitalize existing drivers and introduce new ones," achieving the goals set for 2025 and beyond while contributing to the execution of PVOIL's development strategy.

On behalf of the Party Committee and the leadership of PVOIL, Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the deep concern and strong support from Petrovietnam for PVOIL. He emphasized that, with the backing of Petrovietnam and the collective efforts of its employees, PVOIL has achieved outstanding and strategic results in recent times. These achievements owe much to the significant contributions of Mr. Doan Van Nhuom. On behalf of PVOIL's leadership team, Mr. Cao Hoai Duong extended his profound appreciation for Mr. Doan Van Nhuom's dedication and contributions and wished him good health and success in his future endeavors.

Mr. Cao Hoai Duong also extended his congratulations to Mr. Nguyen Dang Trinh, the newly appointed Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President & CEO of PVOIL, for earning the strong trust of Petrovietnam's leadership in being entrusted with such an important role. He expressed his hope that in this new position, Mr. Nguyen Dang Trinh would achieve great success and make even greater contributions to the development of both PVOIL and Petrovietnam as a whole. At the same time, as Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVOIL, Mr. Cao Hoai Duong affirmed the corporation's commitment to maintaining and fostering its tradition of unity, cooperation, and support. He pledged the highest level of backing for Mr. Nguyen Dang Trinh as they work together to lead the corporation in fulfilling the critical tasks entrusted and expected by Petrovietnam.
