PVOIL: humanity, empathy and sharing in the days of fighting with the whole country against the Covid-19 pandemic

Like many other enterprises, PVOIL has been under a challenging period when it has to maintain business and production amid the complicated pandemic situation. Its petroleum depots implement the on-site sleepover plan to ensure enough gasoline to the market demands. Petroleum stations also maintain operations, ensuring uninterrupted petroleum supply in the difficult situations.
In addition to implementing effectively the dual goal of preventing pandemic and ensuring production and business, PVOIL has actively implemented many activities to support pandemic-hit citizens in Ho Chi Minh City as well as other localities nationwide since the Corporation is making effort to support the Government and people to overcome the pandemic.
PVOIL mobilized employees donating their salary of one working day to support the Covid-19 pandemic prevention as well as support for disadvantaged workers of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.
The Corporation and its employees donated 5 billion VND to the Government's Vaccine Fund. It also sponsored drinking water worth more than 400 million VND to Bac Giang province. People in Bac Ninh province also received drinking water worth more than 200 million VND.
Beside, PVOIL sponsored ambulances worth more than 770 million VND to Kim Dong district in Hung Yen province and donated Thanh Hoa province 1 billion VND. Joining the 0 VND Supermarket and free meals in Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi, the corporation donated 300 million VND. It also donated high-flow oxygen ventilator (HFNC) to hospital, and donated 200 million VND to hospitals and isolation areas.
In particular, PVOIL has implemented a specific and practical activity that offers free gasoline to fleets transporting infected patients to field hospitals and food and necessities to people living in areas under lockdown.
Since July 26th, 2021, PVOIL has donated petroleum to 118 vehicles through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Thu Duc City, Nhat Tam Volunteer Group, Tran Phuoc Hoa Volunteer Group, Giang Kim Cuc Volunteer Group received free petroleum from the Corporation. Drivers installed the PVOIL Easy application for free petroleum at all PVOIL and COMECO petroleum stations in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.
PVOIL staffs have been very enthusiastic in working with owners of the vehicles to provide petroleum as soon as possible. Employees of petroleum stations are happy and enthusiastic when supplying gasoline to the volunteers. Thanks to this timely support, PVOIL has contributed to the implementation of the Covid-19 pandemic prevention in the city, said Ms. Trinh Thi My Hue, Vice Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Thu Duc City.
Operating the zero-dong volunteer vehicle fleet is a very difficult and dangerous job. The group is very concerned about funding to maintain the long-term fleet. Getting supported by PVOIL, the group is very happy because it has relieved a huge part of their worries about funding, said Mr. Tran Thanh Long, leader of Nhat Tam Volunteer Group. That is also the opinion of the representative of the Volunteer Group Tran Phuoc Hoa.
In addition, from July 29th, 2021, PVOIL organized a zero-dong kitchen that offer free meals to frontline medical staff. Every day, the kitchen serves about 350 meals to hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City. The food were delivered to field hospital No. 3, No. 5, No. 6, No. 8, An Binh Hospital, Ethnic Medicine, 175, Thu Duc District Hospital, District 8, District 11, District 12...
Accompanying with PVOIL Kitchen, Gas South sponsors all gas consumption, PVOIL Member Units support part of food. These activities have a very practical meaning, showing the humanity, empathy and sharing spirit of PVOIL.
