PVOIL creates unique impression from its programs to support the community

By putting the heart in every community activity and charitable programs, the PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) has made a unique, practical and timely impression.
In 2020, historic storms and floods occurred in the Central region causing severe losses to local residents. In order to support the people in the region to overcome and cope with the natural disasters, especially the storm No. 8 causing landslides, floods, PVOIL deployed thousands of trucks sending foods to the flood-hit areas to timely support the victims.
Moreover, PVOIL promptly implemented the program entitled "Gasoline support for flood relief vehicles in Central Vietnam" at all its petroleum stations along the National Highway No.1 from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. Each vehicle was supported with VND300,000 of gasoline. The procedure for the drivers to get fuel was simplified. They did not need to prove documents. All truck carrying goods to aid the people in the Central region were supported at the stations.
This humane and practical program of PVOIL has received enthusiastic and generous responses from drivers as well as the community. Although the program took place within only 4 days, it greatly contributed to spreading the sharing spirit among PVOIL employees. During the program, PVOIL has supported 1,402 vehicles, with a total cost of more than VND415 million. The money was taken from the production cost of PVOIL and the contribution of PVOIL employees.

Beside the program to support the beloved Central region, PVOIL promptly brought essential necessities to the people in flood-hit areas. As one of the earliest organizations supported victims of the storm No. 8, employees of PVOIL Thua Thien - Hue and PVOIL Vung Ang overcame difficulties and quickly brought foods to the affected people in Thua Thien - Hue, Quang Tri, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces, ...
The localities were badly hit by storms, landslides and floods. People there had to suffer from starvation because of lack of food, and their houses were severely damaged. PVOIL's staff also visited and supported support local schools to overcome the natural disaster. They visited and encouraged people with relatives died in the floods ... PVOIL practical support not only shared the pain and loss of the people, but also sent a spreading-love messages calling the community to join hands in helping the people of Central Vietnam.
Along with the historic storms, the COVID-19 pandemic left a profound impact on all aspects of socio-economic life in 2020. PVOIL's business and production activities were also severely affected after the Government applied the social distancing campaign to limit the spread of coronavirus. The measure caused the decline in petroleum consumption and prices.
Despite suffering from the pandemic, PVOIL still organized program to support the pandemic and flood-hit people. PVOIL has donated 9 tons of rice for the "Free rice ATM for the poor" in the Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Yen, and the community have helped poor workers who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

Before conducting those activities, PVOIL also carried out several practical and meaningful activities including distributing 50,000 medical masks to customers and people at PVOIL's petroleum stations. PVOIL petroleum storages have actively supported lunches for customers / truck drivers while waiting for goods because restaurants were closed due to COVID-19 pandemic. It donated VND100 million to buy COVID-19 test kit. It also supported Da Nang city petroleum worth VND100 million for pandemic prevention task.

There are many other activities that have inked PVOIL's mark such as school building, offering gratitude, joining hands to support the community ... Several PVOIL petroleum stations have become places to offer used clothes, books and school supplies or place to help farmers to sell agricultural products. PVOIL petroleum stations also became an address for people to get free drinking water.
When Tet (Lunar New Year Holiday) comes, the biggest worry of students is the cost of travelling home to celebrate the New Year with their families. PVOIL organised free coaches sending the poor students home in gratitude trips. The program has been implemented since 2018. Every year, PVOIL brings thousands of students home to celebrate Tet.
In addition to preparing dozens of high-quality coaches for students to return home for Tet, PVOIL's Communist Youth Union members were also directly involved in preparing rice and drinking water for all students during the journey. The journey contributed to bringing spring families and transmitting the messages about the traditions and good human values of Vietnamese people.
This year, PVOIL sent over 880 students from the Ho Chi Minh City’s National University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Petroleum and Petroleum College home to celebrate Tet. The activity was meaningful when the country had to cope with many difficulties from the COVID-19 pandemic and the consecutive historic storms and floods in the Central region.

“The way of offering is more important than the gifts” spirit was derived from the sincerity, social responsibility of the enterprise. The practical actions, enthusiasm of PVOIL's employees did not only support in material but also shared loving messages so that those who receive sharing will be more motivated in life. It helps spreading human values in the community.
