09.04.2025
On April 9, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) held a conference to commend outstanding individuals and collectives, summarizing the emulation and commendation movement during 2020–2025 and setting out orientations for the period 2026–2030.
The conference was attended by Ms. Hoang Thi Chanh – Head of the Commendation and Emulation Department, Human Resources Management Board of Petrovietnam.
Mr. Cao Hoai Duong – Secretary of Party Committee, Chairman of Board of Management, and Mr. Nguyen Dang Trinh – Vice Secretary of Party Committee, President & CEO of PVOIL, General Director of the Corporation, co-chaired the conference, members of Board of Directors, Executive Board, department heads, and representatives of affiliated and member units.
The 2020–2025 period posed significant challenges and opportunities for PVOIL due to major fluctuations in the domestic and international economic, political, and social landscapes. Facing these challenges, PVOIL’s leadership identified emulation and commendation as key activities that helped motivate employees and promote the successful completion – and even surpassing – of planned targets.
PVOIL’s emulation movements were diverse, creative, and closely aligned with practical operations, including campaigns to exceed business targets, encourage innovation, promote cost-saving initiatives, and improve fuel trading management and service quality at fuel stations and depots. In addition to these movements, PVOIL organized evaluations and rewards for outstanding teams and individuals in business, goods management, special projects, creativity contests, and skills competitions for fuel station and depot staff. Notably, the “Best Collective/Individual of the Year” award was a distinctive and prestigious initiative that strongly encouraged excellent performance across the company.
Through these emulation activities, many teams and individuals were promptly honored and rewarded, spreading motivation throughout the entire system and significantly contributing to the overall success of PVOIL from 2020 to 2025. The corporation not only fulfilled its assigned tasks excellently but also achieved great success in business, corporate governance, and social responsibility.
At the conference, Mr. Cao Hoai Duong emphasized that the past five years were especially challenging due to the direct and severe impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the fuel business, as well as geopolitical conflicts. Yet, PVOIL not only overcame these difficulties but turned them into opportunities, marking one of the most successful periods in its history by completing and surpassing all five-year targets (2020–2025). PVOIL set numerous records in revenue and fuel trading volumes, becoming a major revenue center for the Group. These achievements were made possible by the collective efforts of the workforce, including exemplary teams and individuals.
Mr. Cao Hoai Duong reaffirmed PVOIL’s focus on recognizing front-line workers and grassroots units in the emulation and commendation work. More importantly, rewards must be timely, fair, and meaningful to truly inspire the workforce. Honored individuals and teams should feel proud and be further motivated, while those not yet recognized will be encouraged to strive harder. These inspirational stories will spread throughout the organization, fostering unity and determination to overcome all difficulties and fulfill assigned tasks.
At the conference, PVOIL honored and rewarded 11 outstanding collectives and 17 outstanding individuals for their achievements during 2020–2025.
Ms. Tran Thi Kim Anh – Manager of Fuel Station No. 08, PVOIL Saigon, one of the individuals honored, shared: “When I received the notification that I was being honored, I was surprised and overjoyed.
