This is the sixth year Petrovietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) has organized the "PVOIL Brings Students Home for Tet" program, bringing more than 1,100 students studying in Ho Chi Minh City home to celebrate Tet in provinces from Binh Thuan to Thanh Hoa. To date, more than 6,000 students have been supported by PVOIL through this very meaningful program.

The program is co-organized by the PVOIL Youth Union with the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center, the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, the University of Science and Technology of Vietnam, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, the Vietnam National Oil and Gas University, the Ho Chi Minh City Petroleum College, and more than 40 universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City.

At 6:30 a.m. on January 28, 2024 (the 18th day of the 12th lunar month), the first bus of the "PVOIL Brings Students Home for Tet" program - Spring of the Year of the Dragon 2024 departed from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education.

After departing from Ho Chi Minh City, the bus will stop for students to rest and have lunch in Ninh Thuan, dinner in Phu Yen, breakfast in Ha Tinh, and end the journey in Thanh Hoa.

In addition to preparing 25 high-quality cars for students to have a comfortable trip, PVOIL youth members and staff have prepared food and drinks to welcome the students right at PVOIL petrol stations along the route. All costs for renting cars and food during the journey are supported by PVOIL, and students enjoy the services completely free of charge. The participating units include Timexco, PVOIL Trans, PVOIL Binh Thuan, PVOIL Phu Yen, PVOIL Central, PVOIL Vung Ang, and PVOIL Thanh Hoa.

On January 26, 2024, PVOIL youth members worked with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education youth members to wrap more than 1,100 sticky rice cakes as gifts for students returning home for Tet.

Hoang Thi Lan Anh, a native of Nghe An and a student of the Special Education Department at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, expressed her feelings after participating in the program, "This is the first time I have participated in this program. I feel very warm and well-supported by the youth members. They guided me to the buses and helped me carry my luggage. My family is poor, and I can only go home once a year during Tet. The ticket cost of over VND 1.2 million is a significant amount. Knowing about this program is a great help. The organizers also provide food throughout the journey, while if I go by other buses, I have to arrange everything myself, and it's difficult to book a seat and there are often many people squeezed in. I couldn't sleep last night because I was so excited to go home. I feel like I'm floating on cloud nine!"

The "PVOIL Brings Students Home for Tet" program is a meaningful initiative that helps students from poor families return home to celebrate Tet with their families. The program is a testament to PVOIL's commitment to social responsibility and its support for education.

Lê Văn Châu, a native of Binh Dinh, a sophomore in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, said, "I have traveled on the PVOIL - Home for Tet bus for the second time and I am very grateful to the program for helping me return home to celebrate Tet with my family. My family has 4 siblings in school, my father passed away in 2022, and my mother is the sole breadwinner with a daily income of about VND 120,000, but it is also unstable. I try my best to study and receive some scholarships to help with my tuition. Therefore, the Tet home trip is very meaningful to me and my family. In addition, the departure time of the bus is close to the school's Tet break, so we can also easily arrange it. We were also able to participate in the Banh chung wrapping program and were given this meaningful gift, bringing the atmosphere of Tet home with us. I am very excited to go home to celebrate a complete Tet."

Phan Thị Thu Hương, a freshman at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, who went on a bus to Thanh Hoa, shared, "Since I enrolled until now, I have never been home, I miss my home very much. I learned about the program through school information and it was also easy to register through online instructions. I was lucky to be approved by the organizing committee, so I saved a portion of the cost because my family has two sisters who are both attending universities far away, and the cost of returning home by bus is very expensive. I am very happy to participate in the program, thank you to the sponsor PVOIL."

In addition to production and business activities, PVOIL always pays attention to organizing practical and meaningful social welfare programs for people in need in society. "PVOIL - Home for Tet" is not only an activity to support students, but also deeply expresses the compassion of PVOIL, towards the community. With all our love, PVOIL wishes that the students have a journey in love and sharing; quickly and safely return home to celebrate Tet reunion and happiness.

Within the framework of the "PVOIL - Home for Tet" program – Spring of the Year of Dragon 2024, PVOIL organizes a writing contest (Status) and a Tiktok video contest about the program. The entry letter includes a paragraph/article/short video clip about the program, the memories, impressions, thoughts, etc. of the students, collaborators with the journey "PVOIL - Home for Tet" and those who care about and love the program; accompanied by images, video clips of activities before or during the departure ceremony, with images of the program on the journey; sent to the PVOIL Fanpage. The contest will create a fun and meaningful playground, with attractive prizes, etc., contributing to adding more joy and meaning to a journey full of emotions./.

The program has received positive feedback from students and their families. It has helped to alleviate the financial burden on families of low-income students and has allowed them to celebrate Tet with their loved ones. The program is a testament to PVOIL's commitment to social responsibility and its support for education./.
