PVOIL aims to apply AI in scientific research and work

AI (Artificial Intelligence) refers to machines designed with human-like intelligence. The goal of AI technology is to enable computers to automate intelligent behaviors similar to those of humans.

Specifically, artificial intelligence allows computers to perform human-like tasks, such as thinking and reasoning to solve problems, communicating by understanding language and speech, learning and adapting independently, and more. In the workplace, AI plays a key role in automating processes, supporting smart decision-making, enhancing user experiences, and driving creativity and development.

In line with the current strong trend of digital transformation, PVOIL has conducted extensive research and applied scientific and technological innovations in its management and business operations, such as PVOIL Easy, PVOIL B2B, PVOIL 4U, and the modernization of pump stations.

Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong, Vice President of the Corporation and Chairwoman of the Scientific Council of Vietnam Oil Corporation, stated: "In the 4.0 era, with the rapid development of science and technology, businesses need to continuously improve and enhance their professional capabilities, as well as research and apply scientific and technological advancements to improve production and management efficiency; innovate products and services; access global markets; and strengthen competitiveness. In the field of digital technology, the priority technology categories in Vietnam include artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, big data analytics, blockchain technology, and cloud computing. Among these, the Ministry of Science and Technology has identified AI as the top priority technology and one of the core technologies in the coming years. Particularly, the application of AI in scientific research will help accelerate the pace of scientific discoveries, analyze data quickly and accurately, foster innovation, simulation, and experimentation; optimize processes, analyze customer behavior, and predict needs; enhance decision-making capabilities; and develop smart products and services, while improving security and risk management. However, during the application process, we need to approach AI tools step by step, carefully study their advantages and disadvantages, and use them correctly to save time, while understanding that AI cannot completely replace humans."

Based on the significance of science and technology in the development of the company, the Scientific Council of Vietnam Oil Corporation organized a training course on "Methods for Developing and Defending Scientific and Technological Tasks. Application of AI in Scientific Research and Work." The training was conducted both in-person and online, with over 300 employees and workers from various departments, the Corporation’s offices, affiliated units, member companies, and staff from the Trade Union and Youth Union of the Corporation.

At the end of the course, most participants highly evaluated the quality, practicality, and applicability of the training. As a result, the training successfully achieved its objectives, providing essential skills for preparing and defending scientific and technological tasks, while also helping PVOIL employees understand and apply AI effectively in scientific research and their work.
