This is the 7th year that Vietnam Oil Corporation has organized the program "Going Home for Tet with PVOIL," bringing over 1,100 students studying in Ho Chi Minh City back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet in provinces from Binh Thuan to Thanh Hoa. To date, more than 7,000 student trips have been supported by PVOIL through this meaningful program.

The program is organized by PVOIL's Youth Union in collaboration with the Youth Union of the University of Danang University of Science and Technology, Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of Pedagogy, Vietnam Petroleum University, and more than 45 universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City. A highlight of this year’s program is that students receive bus tickets through the PVOIL 4U fuel purchasing app designed for individual customers.

At 6:30 AM on January 19, 2025 (the 20th day of the 12th lunar month), the first bus of the "Going Home for Tet with PVOIL" program – Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025 – departed from the University of Danang University of Science and Technology.

At the event, Mr. Cao Hoai Duong – Party Secretary and Chairman of PVOIL's Board of Directors, shared the excitement of everyone as they headed home to reunite with their families for the Tet holiday. He also spoke about the challenges many students from disadvantaged backgrounds face in securing tickets for the journey home. With empathy and understanding, PVOIL has organized the "Going Home for Tet with PVOIL" trips in previous years. "We want to give students a ticket so they can return home to celebrate Tet, to be reunited with their families during the sacred moments of the new year. We hope you will overcome difficulties, succeed in life, and that your family will not only be a pillar to turn to in times of hardship, but also a place where you bring pride, joy, and honor to your loved ones," Mr. Cao Hoai Duong expressed. On behalf of more than 7,000 employees at PVOIL, the Chairman sent his Tet greetings to the teachers, the city's Youth Union, school youth unions, and the students, wishing them a safe, joyful, and healthy journey home to celebrate with their families in the new spring.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh, Vice Rector of the University of Danang University of Science and Technology, stated that the "Going Home for Tet with PVOIL" bus program has now entered its 7th year. This is a highly meaningful program, with significant support from PVOIL and universities and colleges in the Ho Chi Minh City area, providing an opportunity for disadvantaged students to return home for Tet. On behalf of the universities with students participating in the program, the school's administration expressed sincere gratitude for the care and support provided by PVOIL. With thoughtful preparations, including bus tickets, gifts, and free meals throughout the journey, the school is confident that the students will have an enjoyable, safe, and happy trip back to reunite with their families.

After departing from Ho Chi Minh City, the convoy made stops for students to rest and have lunch in Ninh Thuan, dinner in Binh Dinh, breakfast in Ha Tinh, and the journey concluded in Thanh Hoa.

In addition to preparing 25 high-quality buses for a comfortable journey for the students, PVOIL's Youth Union members and employees also arranged food and drinks for the students at PVOIL's gas stations along the route. All vehicle rental and meal expenses throughout the journey were covered by PVOIL, with the students receiving these services completely free of charge. The participating units in this initiative included TIMEXCO, PETEC, PVOIL Trans, PVOIL Binh Thuan, PVOIL Phu Yen, PVOIL Mien Trung, PVOIL Vung Ang, and PVOIL Thanh Hoa.

Earlier, on January 17, 2025, PVOIL's Youth Union, in collaboration with the Youth Union of the University of Danang University of Science and Technology, organized the wrapping of over 1,100 Chung cakes to be given as gifts to all students participating in the program.

Participating in the program, Pham Thanh Tan, a student from the University of Danang University of Science and Technology, shared, "I feel relieved and happy to travel with fellow students from my hometown, without the worries I would have when traveling by bus. I was also very surprised to receive Chung cakes as a gift. The trip is amazing, with full support for students, helping me return home for Tet and saving a significant amount of money for my family. My parents are elderly, work in agriculture, and don’t have pensions, so it's very difficult for them."

Nguyen Thi Huong, a student from the University of Danang University of Science and Technology, shared, "I feel happy, excited, and nervous as this is my first time participating in the program. It’s a meaningful initiative that helps those of us who don’t have the means to return home for Tet with our families. Without this bus trip, some students would have to stay behind and it would be very sad, as everyone wants to reunite with their families during Tet. It’s also difficult and expensive to book transportation during this time. My mother is the sole breadwinner, supporting three of us through school, and since I study far from home, the expenses are even higher. With this PVOIL bus trip, I’m very touched to be able to go home for free and even receive gifts."

In addition to its business activities, PVOIL is always dedicated to organizing meaningful and impactful social welfare programs to support those facing difficulties in society. The "Going Home for Tet with PVOIL" initiative not only assists students but also deeply reflects PVOIL’s humanitarian spirit, with a strong focus on community welfare. With heartfelt sincerity, PVOIL hopes to offer students a journey filled with love and care, ensuring they return home quickly and safely to celebrate a joyful and happy Tet with their families.

As part of the "Going home for Tet with PVOIL" – Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025 program, PVOIL is organizing a writing contest (Status) and a TikTok video contest about the program. Submissions should include a short paragraph or an essay/video expressing thoughts and feelings about the program, memories, impressions, or reflections from students, collaborators, and those who are interested in and fond of the program. Participants are encouraged to include images or video clips of activities before or during the departure ceremony, along the journey, featuring scenes from the program. Entries should be sent to PVOIL’s Fanpage. The contest will create a fun and meaningful platform with exciting prizes, contributing to the joy and significance of a journey filled with emotions.
