“Fuel First – Pay Later”: For the First Time, Customers Enjoy Exclusive Benefits Through the PVOIL 4U App

On September 30, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) held a press conference to introduce its fuel purchasing application for retail customers, named “PVOIL 4U.”

The event was chaired by Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, Chairman of PVOIL, and Mr. Tran Hoai Nam, Deputy CEO of HDBank, with participation from leaders of key partners, including Be Group, PVcomBank, MBBank, PVI Insurance, Urbox, and SSG.

The press conference attracted representatives from 30 media agencies based in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

Mr. Cao Hoai Duong shared that PVOIL is one of Vietnam's leading enterprises in the business and distribution of petroleum products, supplying over 5.5 million cubic meters/tons of petroleum annually, accounting for 22-25% of the domestic market share. With a commitment to creating the best products and services and enhancing customer experiences, PVOIL has continuously improved its product and service quality.

Building on the success of its previous offerings, PVOIL collaborated with its partners to develop and launch the PVOIL 4U app, which introduces groundbreaking features such as gifting fuel vouchers, transaction management for group customers, searching for traffic violation fines, purchasing vehicle insurance, and more. Notably, PVOIL has partnered with HDBank to offer customers the “Fuel Now – Pay Later” feature, enabling fuel purchases on credit provided by the bank.

As a key partner, HDBank has contributed technical solutions and credit policies to enable the “Fuel Now – Pay Later” feature for PVOIL 4U customers. Mr. Nguyen Tan Luc, Director of HDBank’s Digital Banking Application Development Center, highlighted that this collaboration marks a significant step forward in their strategic partnership and a strong milestone in the digital transformation journey of both parties. Through PVOIL 4U, HDBank reaffirms its commitment to advancing a digital society, promoting a cashless economy, and delivering modern and convenient payment solutions to users.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Vu Hoang Yen, CEO of Be Group, praised the app's potential impact. With a rapidly expanding community of over 400,000 active BE drivers providing ride-hailing, delivery, and food services, she expressed confidence that PVOIL 4U will become an essential tool, enhancing work efficiency and alleviating financial burdens for drivers. Beyond direct benefits for drivers, the app contributes to the growth of the digital economy and urban transportation systems.

PVOIL leadership and its partners dedicated considerable time to addressing key concerns raised by the media, including the security and data protection features of the PVOIL 4U app. Particular attention was given to the “Fuel Now – Pay Later” feature, with questions regarding credit limits, the registration process, and the use of the bank's credit function for fuel purchases. Other topics discussed included risk levels, risk management solutions, and regulations on late payment penalties for overdue balances.

PVOIL leadership and its partners affirmed their commitment to ensuring the highest level of security for a commercial application. Regarding the “Fuel Now – Pay Later” feature, PVOIL and HDBank highlighted it as an innovative solution pioneered by the two companies and the consumer finance industry. Leveraging HDBank's experience in unsecured lending and PVOIL's targeted screening of regular customers, the feature is designed to provide financial solutions for customers while simultaneously boosting customer acquisition and revenue growth for the businesses.

At the press conference, a representative of PVOIL announced promotional programs celebrating the launch of the PVOIL 4U app, jointly organized by PVOIL and its partner HDBank.

Starting at 3:00 PM on September 30, 2024, PVOIL will launch a promotional program for the first 9,999 customers who download the PVOIL 4U app, register an account, and successfully complete their first purchase through the app. Each eligible customer will receive a voucher worth 20,000 VND.

Additionally, customers using HDBank accounts can participate in the “Lucky Spin” program directly on the PVOIL 4U app from September 30, 2024, to December 15, 2024, for a chance to win exciting prizes.
