Towards the Central region: PVOIL donates gifts to affected people in flood areas

PetroVietnam Oil Corporation has taken VND200 million from the "Fund for natural disaster relief" to help people in central region’s Thua Thien – Hue and Quang Tri to overcome the damages caused by floods. At the same time, the corporation’s Board of Directors called employees to donate money for the charitable campaign.

October 21st, 2020 ...

After a day of preparation, staff members of PVOIL Thua Thien Hue urgently brought the first gifts to flood-affected people in Phong Xuan and Phong My communes in Phong Dien district, Thua Thien - Hue province.

These two communes were heavily flooded. Currently, the water has withdrawn and people have partly overcome the damages caused by floods. PVOIL presented 200 gifts to the people. Each gift worths VND500,000.

Staff members of PVOIL Thua Thien Hue travelled over 120 kilometers to bring 100 gifts to people in Trieu Long commune, Trieu Phong district in Quang Tri province. Each gift is worth VND500,000, including rice and cash.

People in the commune live mainly on farming. During the flood, 100% of houses were under the water. The most serious affected house was has suffered 2 meter water from the floor. The floodwaters washed away all the rice fields and crops of the people.
