According to the Organizing Committee of PVOIL VOC 2021’s announcement, the competition registration portal was closed at 10:00 am on November 17, 2021. As of 10am on November 14, 74 teams had successfully registered, of which the Basic classification had been closed on November 10 when the organizers had received enough teams for the competition.
The 2AB test track runs parallel at the VOC 2019 season
This year’s tournament, organisers will not expand the competition’s scale since they are facing many difficulties from ensuring pandemic prevention. Total number of teams competing in the tournament will remain at 80, of which in the Vietnam Pickup category will have 24 registration documents, the Extended category will have 10 teams, the Advanced category will have 16 teams, the Basic category have 30 teams.
Currently, there are only 6 places left in the Vietnam Pickup categorie (3 places), Expanded (2 places) and Advanced (1 place). The registration portal closed on November 17 to compile the list and switch to the next preparation steps.
The registration speed this year was slower than 2020 season since athletes were still afraid of the constraints of the regulations on the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2020 season’s organisers had to close registration just 72 hours after opening for documents. The number of registered teams exceeded the expected number, said Mr. Nguyen Dai Hoang, head of the organizing committee.
At the PVOIL VOC 2021 season, in addition to the regular registration steps, the teams will have to have a certificate of Covid-19 vaccination and a negative test for the within a maximum of 72 hours.
In addition, this year, the organizers will deploy more streaming systems on online platforms to help audiences to follow the details of the races at home. The tournament will be broadcast live on Facebook, TV channels such as VTC sports and other online platforms.
