VinFast installs its first electric car chargers at PVOIL stations

Automaker VinFast and PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) officially inaugurated the first car charging station at PVOIL petroleum station in Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city. The first car charging station is among 300 VinFast car charging stations to be installed at PVOIL petroleum stations nationwide in 2022.
Based on the needs of developing a network of car chargers for VinFast electric vehicles and PVOIL's energy transition strategy, making PVOIL a diversified energy supplier, the two firms have agreed to cooperate in installing VinFast electric car charging stations at PVOIL petroleum stations.
In 2022, Vinfast plans to install 300 charging stations at PVOIL petroleum stations nationwide. The automaker and the oil firm will also continue to explore for suitable locations for the expansion to meet the development demands of both sides.
The VinFast electric car charging station at PVOIL Cat Hai petroleum station has a 150 kW fast charging pole and five 60 kW fast charging poles according to CCS 2 standards. The station can charge up to 12 vehicles at the same time. Like other locations, the charging station at PVOIL Cat Hai meets European standards of ISO-15118 and IEC 61851, ensuring maximum safety in terms of power supply and fire and explosion prevention, electric leakage, and waterproofing.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the first electric car charging station, Mr. Hoang Chi Trung, general director of VinFast Trading said: “With the philosophy of Customer-Centricity, VinFast believes that products with high quality should always be accompanied by a comprehensive service. VinFast and PVOIL will research and cooperate to jointly exploit and promote the common advantages of the two sides, in order to bring more benefits to customers.”
“This is also a premise for VinFast to create a comprehensive electric car ecosystem, bringing an increasingly flexible, convenient and accessible battery charging experience to customers,” he added.
Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, chairman of the Board of Management of PVOIL said: "Electric vehicles are a common trend that is developing strongly in the world, leading to a wave of investment in charging station infrastructure. It is also taking place in Vietnam. As the leading petroleum business in Vietnam, the cooperation with VinFast is the first step in implementing a strategy for PVOIL to adapt to the current inevitable trend of energy transition.”

The cooperation with PVOIL to develop a charging stations nationwide is part of VinFast's roadmap towards the goal of installing 150,000 charging ports in 63 provinces and cities nationwide in 2022.
