Petroleum imports jump over 6.2 billion in first 9 months

Viet Nam up to the end of the third quarter spent 6.244 billion USD on petroleum imports, with the volume of oil imported about 8.5 million tonnes.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) said that the volume of imported petroleum in the first 9 months increased 23.9% in volume over the same period in 2017.
Earlier, in September, petroleum prices rose twice. Specifically, on September 6th, the price of E5 RON 92 and RON 95 increased 300 VND/liter, while that of diesel 0.05S increased 383 VND/litre, fuel oil (FO) were up 296 VNĐ/litre and oil mazut 3.5S increased 173 VND/ kilogramme.
On September 21st, E5 RON 92 increased by 320 VND/litre, RON 95-III gasoline was up 293 VND/liter, while that of diesel 0.05S increased by 57 VND/liter, kerosene fuel oil went up by 124 VND/litre and oil mazut 3.5S 26 VND/kilogramme.
Under two adjustments, the retail price of E5 RON 92 increased by 620 VND/liter and RON 95 increased 593 VND/liter.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that in the first half of 2018, the total domestic petroleum consumption in the whole country reached about 4.43 million cubic meter (cu.m). In particular, E5 RON 92 reached about 1.78 million cu.m, accounting for about 40.18%; RON 95 reached about 2.65 million cu.m, accounting for about 59.82%.
Compared with 2017, E5 RON 92 petroleum domestic consumption has increased by 31.18% (E5 RON 92 in 2017 was only about 9% of total petroleum consumption).
