2022 PVOIL Football Cup opened in Vung Tau City

On September 9, 2022, in the coastal city of Vung Tau, the Opening Ceremony of the 2022 PVOIL Football Tournament – Southern Regional Qualifier was kicked off.

The qualifying round for the South region received the participation of 15 teams from 18 affiliated units and subsidiaries of PetroVietnam Oil Corporation. The competition lasts three days, from September 8 to 10, 2022.

Teams will compete to choose the four best teams to compete in the final round. The final round will be held in Da Nang, with the participation of the six best teams from the South and North. The 2022 PVOIL Cup Football Tournament – Southern Regional Qualifier is divided into four groups:

Group A has four teams: Collaboration PVOIL Tra Vinh + PVOIL Bac Lieu; Timexco; PVOIL Vung Tau; PVOIL Phu Yen.

Group B has four teams: Petromekong; Parent company; PVOIL Mien Dong; PVOIL Binh Thuan

Group C has four teams: PVOIL Tay Ninh; Collaboration PVOIL Nha Be + PVOIL Ba Ria Vung Tau; PVOIL Phu My; Collaboration PVOIL Mien Trung + PVOIL Quang Ngai.

Group D has three teams: PVOIL Trans; PVOIL Sai Gon; Petec.

After three days of fierce competition, the Southern qualifying round picked four of the best teams, including PVOIL Phu Yen; Collaboration PVOIL Mien Trung + PVOIL Quang Ngai; PVOIL Binh Thuan and Petec, in which:

- First prize, worth 10,000,000 VND, belongs to PVOIL Phu Yen.
- Second prize, worth 7,000,000 VND, belongs to Collaboration PVOIL Mien Trung + PVOIL Quang Ngai.
- Third prize, worth 5,000,000 VND, belongs to PVOIL Binh Thuan.

The four teams listed above will represent the South region at the final round, which will be held in Da Nang, Vietnam, on September 23-25, 2022.
