On July 21st 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, PVOIL Trade Union organised the 4th Congress, term 2023-2028.
Ms. Nghiem Thuy Lan, Chairwoman of PetroVietnam's Trade Union and Member of the Executive Board of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, attended the Congress.
The event was also attended by Mr. Nguyen Manh Kha, Vice Chairman of PetroVietnam’s Trade Union, and Trade Union leaders of Departments/Offices corporations, units under the Group.
On the side of PVOIL, the meeting was attended by Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Management of the Corporation, PVOIL President & CEO Doan Van Nhuom, who is also Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Corporation, Mr. Vo Khanh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy General Director of the Corporation.
Members of the Party Committee's Standing Committee, the Board of Management, the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Board, the Secretary of the Youth Union, the President of the Veterans Association, leaders of the Boards/Offices, affiliated units, and units also attended the congress. 170 delegates representing over 6,000 PVOIL Trade Union members attended the gathering.
At the congress, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of PetroVietnam Oil Corporation, term III, reported on a summary of the Corporation's trade union activities during the 2018-2023 term and determined the direction, goals and tasks for the term 2023-2028.
Presentations at the meeting agreed that in the 2018-2023 term, PVOIL Trade Union achieved proud results, truly being a reliable organization of the workforce and the bridge between the Party Committee, enterprises and employees.
The Corporation's Trade Union did an excellent job of representing and protecting employees' legitimate rights and interests. The Trade Union and the leaders of all units implemented a number of policies concerning material and spiritual existence. The activities of taking care of union members and staff, particularly during the period of prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic, were the remarkable results of the Trade Union at all levels in the previous term.
Furthermore, spiritual life activities, sports, cultural and artistic movements are organized and maintained on a regular basis at the Corporation and its units, assisting employees in exercising their health and promoting a spirit of solidarity and attachment within each unit and among units in the Corporation. Propaganda and employee mobilization to implement Party guidelines and policies, State laws, and PVOIL rules and regulations have always been well implemented by the Corporation and its units, particularly propaganda, psychological stabilization, and ideology of employees at units implementing mergers and transformations in accordance with the Corporation's corporate restructuring plan.
The work of improving professional qualifications and skills of PVOIL employees is carried out through practical and lively activities. Social security and charity activities are also one of the outstanding activities of PVOIL Trade Union in the last term. When Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country prevented the Covid-19 pandemic, PVOIL employees joined hands and contributed with many meaningful and practical activities...
For term 2023-2028, PVOIL Trade Union set the goal of “Building a strong trade union organization, improving the quality of the trade union staff, for the benefit of PVOIL union members and employees; “Solidarity – Discipline – Creativity – Efficiency”, companion for the sustainable development of PVOIL”.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Management of PVOIL recognized and highly appreciated the achievements of the Corporation's Trade Union in the 2018-2023 period. The Trade Union performed well its role of connecting, raising the sense of responsibility of each individual and collective of employees.
The organization advised the Party Committee, Board of Management of the Corporation to organize activities associated with the performance of production and business tasks of the Corporation, charity activities, social security. It also accompanied with PVOIL leader to organize activities of taking care of life of the employees.
In particular, in the context of the world having many fluctuations and uncertainties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, previous years were difficult years without precedent, seriously affecting the business performance of PVOIL.
The Corporation's outstanding achievements was maintaining jobs and stable incomes for employees. No workers had to lose their jobs due to the impact of the pandemic. PVOIL also ensured safety of nearly 6,000 workers since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the midterm assessment of the implementation of the Resolution of the Party Congress of PVOIL (2020-2025), several targets of PVOIL's production and business plans were completed with a high rate compared to the whole plan. Crude oil exporting and crude oil sale to BSR, petroleum business, submitting national budget, consolidated revenue, consolidated pre-tax profit, new petroleum station development were performed well.
In addition, corporate restructuring was carried out as planned, contributing to improving the unit's production and business efficiency and meeting the development orientation of PVOIL.
The implementation of Project 1114 "Improving the quality of customer service at petroleum stations" and Project 808 "Improving service quality at petroleum depots" have markedly changed the image, brand and quality of customers. The quality of service at the petrol stations and PVOIL petroleum depots… All of these results were thanks to the contributions, hard work and tireless work of the collective of employees and union members who have joined hands and stood side by side with the Board of Management of the Corporation and units.
Assigning tasks to the Corporation's Trade Union in the next term, Mr. Cao Hoai Duong suggested the Trade Union to continue the coordination with the Corporation's Board of Management and other units to perform well in taking care of life of employees and accompany the Corporation to complete strategic goals and annual production and business goals with specific solutions to perform well brand communication, digital transformation, energy transition adaptation, technical improvement... Thereby, the Trade Union and the collective of employees are determined to join hands and unite with the Corporation's Board of Directors to bring PVOIL to new successes and record more marks. new son in the journey "Conquer challenges - Reach higher".
Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Nghiem Thuy Lan, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Oil & Gas Group’s Trade Union acknowledged the efforts of the Executive Board of PVOIL's Trade Union in directing and guiding the organization of the Corporation’s units Congress.
She agreed with the comments and assessments of the Corporation's Party Committee on the results of the Corporation's Trade Union for the 2018-2023 term. PVOIL Trade Union overcame difficulties and challenges and took full advantages of the unit to carry out the work contents with comprehensive results.
The achievements was demonstrated through impressive numbers, activities to take care of the material and spiritual life of employees, movement activities associated with the performance of production and business tasks of the Corporation. In particular, PVOIL Trade Union carried out several activities during and after the Covid-19 pandemic that are unique to PVOIL, contributing to the communication and promotion of the PVOIL brand as well as spreading the gratitude and culture of the Oil and Gas people to the social community.
Ms. Nghiem Thuy Lan suggested PVOIL Trade Union to identify key tasks, key solutions and breakthroughs to effectively implement goals and plans in the coming term such as focusing on building Trade Union from the grassroots level, information technology application, innovation in trade union communication…
On this occasion, PetroVietnam’s Trade Union awarded merit certificate to the Trade Union of PVOIL for "Having outstanding achievements in the movement of emulating good labor and building a strong trade union organization" for the 2018-2023 term.
At the Congress, delegates elected the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of PetroVietnam Oil Corporation, term IV, term 2023-2028, including 16 people. The meeting also elected delegates to attend the 7th Vietnam Oil & Gas Group’s Trade Union Congress, including 19 official delegates and 02 alternate delegates.
The Executive Committee of the Fourth PVOIL Trade Union held the 1st Conference and elected a Standing Committee consisting of 5 comrades; in which, Mr. Doan Duy Cong continued to be elected to hold the position of President of PVOIL Trade Union, term IV. Mr. Mai Xuan Hai and Mr. Tran Viet Hung were elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of PVOIL Trade Union, term IV.
The Executive Board also elects the Fourth PVOIL Trade Union Inspection Committee, consisting of 5 comrades; in which, Mr. Vo Dinh Hoa was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Trade Union's Economic Committee.
