Encouraged by the success in 2018 and 2019, PVOIL has organized the program called “Returning home to celebrate Tet with PVOIL”. The corporation has supported more than 1,300 students returning to their homeland for Tet.
Early morning of January 15th, 2020 (lunar December 21th), the first bus departed, bringing more than 800 students from the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics to South Central provinces from Binh Thuan to Thanh Hoa.
In the opposite direction, in Northern part of the country, more than 500 students of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and the National Economics University will depart for Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh provinces on January 18th, 2020 (lunar December 24th)
Besides preparing 30 qualified buses for students, PVOIL prepares meals and water for all of the passengers during their journey. After departing from Ho Chi Minh City, the coaches will at Binh Thuan for lunch, Phu Yen for dinner, and Ha Tinh for breakfast. Buses departing from Hanoi will stop for the student to have lunch in Thanh Hoa province.
PVOIL covers all of the expenses for bus rent, food and drink during the trip and the students do not have to pay for the services. At the rest stops, Youth Union members and employees of PVOIL in the provinces prepared food, water to support the students.
Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang, from Binh Dinh, a first-year student at University of Economics and Law, said she could have paid VND900.000 for bus ticket to her hometown for Tet.
“In order to have money to return hometown, I planned to stay in Saigon to work until the first New Year's Day. Thanks to my school's announcement, I learned about PVOIL program and registered for it. This is a very meaningful program. I haven't been home for 5 months now, so today is the happiest day for me! ”
Le Cong Son, who has hometown in Hue, a fourth-year student of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, has known the program for 2 years. He has participated the program for 2 Tet seasons.
“Total expense for going home is over VND1 million, which is not a small amount of money for me, so I decided to go to my hometown once on Tet. This is a very meaningful program. I feel happy because I am accompanied by many students from the same hometown and the organizers are very enthusiastic, fun, caring. They give me beautiful memories” Son expressed.
Being happy and excited when going home was the feeling of Thai Thi Ngoc Linh, a freshman at Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Linh said that her family has 3 siblings who have to study away from home. Her parents are farmers. So it is very difficult for them to bring up the 3 children.
“I limit going to hometown to save money. I am very grateful to the program for giving me this valuable opportunity to return home to reunite my family. I hope the program will be continued and further developed so that the students in difficult circumstances like me will be less worried with travel expenses, especially on the occasion of the rising ticket of Tet holiday”, she said.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Van Dung, rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, expressed sincere thanks to PVOIL for organizing the program which conveys the educational messages about tradition and humanity as well.
According to Mai Xuan Hai, secretary of the Youth Union of PVOIL, besides production and business activities, PVOIL always pays attention to organizing meaningful social welfare programs to help the community.
This program is not only an activity to support students, but deeply demonstrates the compassion of PVOIL to the society. PVOIL wants students to have a good journey home with love and sharing.
