Strictly implementing social distancing measures to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, since July 2021, PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) has applied the work-from-home regime for entire employees of parent company. Office staffs of PVOIL’s subsidiaries, affiliates, and branches in localities with the serious pandemic situation have also applied the remote working regime for the same purpose.
In the early days of October 2021, when the pandemic was partly controlled in Ho Chi Minh City and some other provinces, the city government has also prepared for resuming working in the office. PVOIL has also eased restrictions for gradually entering the “new normal” condition.
In order to rewind the spirit and motivate employees of the Corporation before returning to work at the office with positive energy for work efficiency, on October 6th, 2021, PVOIL organized an online training course entitles “New spirit for the new normal”.
The course which received the participation of more than 160 employees is a thematic sharing session with specific contents including an overview of the pandemic context, signs of mental trauma, self-motivation for success, self-understand to optimize the value of each person.
Join in to the course, Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Management of PVOIL shared information about the damage, pain, and heavy impact that the world had to suffer due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The social distancing campaign forced everyone to stay at home for a long time and left a great affect to people. Working and living habits had to change to fit the “new normal” situation. Mr. Cao Hoai Duong acknowledged and highly appreciated the initiative of the Human Resources Division of the Corporation in advising to organize this course.
It is expected the course could help PVOIL employees with the necessary knowledge to stay prepared to adapt and cope with new circumstances due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, even when it is under control in Vietnam and the world.
Opening the course, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Tu, Vice President of PVOIL said before the difficulties and challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, PVOIL’s pandemic prevention and control tasks have been deployed very well, ensuring continuous production and business activities. It contributed to maintaining the petroleum supply chain in the whole system.
Vaccination for entire employees of the Corporation was carried out quickly. A very high rate of employees got vaccinated, minimizing infected cases. Along with the pandemic control situation, the Corporation is also planning to arrange for employees to return to work at the office according to the appropriate schedule and number. This course is a specialized talk to prepare mentally and spiritually to adapt to the “new normal” conditions.
During the half-day course, several topics were shared and discussed by lecturers and students. It can be seen that the Covid-19 pandemic is not only an incident but also a test for each person. Each individual needs to choose a proactive and constructive attitude in the context of changes. Look inside to “listen” to the motivation from within and understand our personal values and inherent “assets” to optimize the value
