China December Crude Imports Off November Figures Despite High Refinery Throughput
China's crude oil imports in December climbed 5.1% year on year to 21.92 million mt, or an average of 5.18 million b/d, preliminary data released Tuesday by the country's General Administration of Customs showed.
The country exported 0.33 million mt of crude oil last month, which was 37.5% more than a year ago.
Crude intake by the world's second-largest oil consumer were lower than November's imports, even though local refineries continued to run their plants at full capacity to beef up inventories of refined products, especially diesel.
China imported 22.69 million mt, or an average of 5.54 million b/d, of crude oil in November.
